In Search of Eye Makeup (Waterproof Mascara) Remover

My mission was to buy waterproof mascara remover.

I was planning to get the Holika Holika product because I did buy their Magic Pole Mascara, which was a pain in the a** to remove it.

I also bought Yves Rocher brands and see if it can remove Holika Holika waterproof mascara, the price is quite cheap considering it's a France product.

Waterproof mascara remover!

1) Yves Rocher: Express Cleanser for sensitive eyes with Cornflower, @rm23.20 (after 29% dis)

Express Cleanser for sensitive eyes with Cornflower, 125ml

2) Holika Holika: Perfect Off Mascara Remover @rm19.55 (after 10% member dis)

Perfect Off Mascara Remover @rm21.70

I'm not sure which one will work the best, I'll try to see if both can remove waterproof mascara. I'm sceptical to use the Holika Holika mascara remover because of the ingredients, they don't have english translation on the bottle.

3) The Body Shop: Aloe Calming Facial Cleanser @rm35.90 (10% member dis)

Aloe Calming Facial Cleanser, 200ml @rm39.90

Eventually, my face also need a clean up. I wanted to try The Body Shop facial cleanser for my face cleanser.

4) Tony Moly: Milky Tint in Pink @rm37.62 (10% dis)

Milky Tint Pink @rm41.80

Before leaving Suria Sabah, I managed to get my hands on Tony Moly tinted gloss :D This was their last day of 10% sale.

Review: Holika Holika Mineral Aura Bijou, Cream Shadow & Magic Pole Mascara

I bought these Holika Holika product and write about it in here. Here are my verdicts..

1. Mineral Aura Bijou in Pink Glow

Well, this is cute. Apart from that, it doesn't work on me. Firstly, I can't get the colours on the buff on my first try. I have to try quite a number of times before I got the colours on the buff, but still, it's not enough to make its way to my cheeks. I have to dab/twist the buff with just a right amount of pressure because I'm afraid to break those tiny round colourful balls.. I don't want to break them of course.

Secondly, when I got the colour onto the buff, I can't get the same amount of colours over the entire surface of the buff. There were some parts of the buff where the colour appeared very well and the others, none at all. It was hard to mix the colour and get the same proportion of colours, so it's better to buff the colour on the back of your hand before applying it directly on the cheeks. It's a tedious job.

When I put makeup on, I don't wear blusher all the time because I'm okay without blusher. So when I want to use blusher, of course I want a simple and easy application where I just dab a little on the blusher, apply it on my cheeks and buff it using my kabuki brush for a natural looks and I'm good to go. This type of blusher is not for me, the lazy blusher girl.

It's still cute though.

Buy again? No, but this one I'll keep it for collection.

2. Cream Shadow & Petite Liner

It was hard to put this cream shadows on my lids. At first, I put the cream using my finger but I can't control the amount of shadows especially in the inner and outer corner of my eyes, it smeared everywhere which is a mess.

Then, I tried using brush but the result was even worst. The colour doesn't show up very well. It's better to use finger because it can picks up more cream I guess. So, in the end, I use my finger instead and I just need to dab slowly and fix the mess using Q-tip.

Surprisingly, the cream shadows stayed all day on my eyes. I wore it at the mall, it's aircon all day, so I'm not sure if it's gonna stay under the sun. All in all, I still like this cream shadows, it's just need a lot of practice to apply it on my eyes perfectly.

Buy again? Yes and No. I'm going to buy it again, but with different colour, just to experiment how it looks on me. No for same colours.

3. Magic Pole Mascara

It's a wet formula mascara and the texture is quite heavy. I don't know if I apply it right but as soon as I put it on my lashes, my curled lashes slowly dropped down and lost it curl altogether. My second try (after I removed the mascara and re-apply again), I managed to get my right lashes to stay on its curl shape after I put the mascara on, but my left lashes pointed downward immediately.

I removed and re-apply the mascara again on my left lashes, but this time, I use the pointed round mascara only and put it on my lower lashes near the eyelid. I figured the wet formula was too heavy for my lashes to hold, and it takes a loooong time to dry. The lashes were slightly dropped down, but not too much. I have to accept the result of my left lashes with its slightly curl condition.. huhu..

So sad, I really want this product to work for me :(

I did return to Holika Holika and told the s/a my problem with this mascara. She told me that I have to put one coat of mascara first and wait for it to dry, then apply a second coat of it. But, I'm pretty sure I did put only one coat of mascara on my lashes the second time I use it, of course this I didn't tell the s/a, I just nodded and said okay. I guess this one just doesn't work for me.

I don't know if the other mascara (the water resistant type) will work on me, but I have to choose waterproof mascara because of my eyes structure. If I use non-waterproof, it will definitely makes me look like a panda by the end of the day.

Buy again? No.

Holika Holika: Water March & Magnesium Pack

My second haul at Holika Holika. This time, I concentrated on skin care.

1) HH Water March Moisture Full Cream @rm66.30

Water March Moisture Full Cream, @rm66.30, 120ml

It comes with its own small spoon to scoop out the product.

It's water based products, nice scents.

Description: This high capacity moisturizing cream fills the dry skin on the verge of breaking with rich amount of nutrients and moisture. The cream, which includes pink moisturizing constituent and rare Ximenia Americana seed oil found in cold and dry Finland, presents the skin with moisture and nutrients, grooming it to be resilient and glossy.

How to use: Take out the right amount, apply it softly along the skin texture, and let it be absorbed by lightly tapping on your face.

This was not my first list to buy, I wanted the night mask actually. When I told the s/a that I want something to put on my face every night when I goes to sleep, she told me that the night mask is not for every night use, I must use it once every two days, basically it's three times per week. That's why I didn't buy it. I'll buy it next time of course.

I chose this Water March because I can use it anytime of the day, I mix it with my Skin79 BB cream and put it on my face every morning before going to work. The s/a told me that this product can be mixed with BB cream, because it's a water based product. At night time, after I wash my face, I put just enough amount on my face.

I like the bottle, it's cute. But to be honest, it's not a convenience application. It will be better if they put it in a squeeze type bottle, I'll buy the bottle later. The small spoon provided is for hygienic reason, so that you won't have to use your hand to scoop the product, but how to keep the spoon clean? Wash it everytime you use it? Now, it is not that bad :D I put the spoon inside the bottle diagonally and  close the lid slowly. It's perfect!

I will let it in its cute bottle but when I'm travelling, I'll put some in squeeze type bottle, it's easier ;p

2) HH Medi Medi Magnesium Pack @rm42.90

Medi-Medi Magnesium Pack, @rm42.90, 70ml
There is second cover to prevent the product all over the lid which is good.

It's greyish and when you apply it on your face, it's started to get dry within a minute.  The scent is okay,
nothing to worry about.

Description: Enriched with Volcanic Clay. Clean pores and takes care of your skin.

How to use: Apply after washing your face, and leave for 10-15 minutes. Wash off the mask. (1-2 times a week).

My pores especially in the nose areas and below my under eyes is visible more and more each day (getting old huh?) I want something that will treat my large pores and even out my skin tone. The s/a recommended using this Magnesium Pack because this targeted on pores treatment. I'm just starting to use it and hopefully I can see the result within a month or so.

My only qualm is they didn't provide a spoon/ spatula, I use my cotton bud to scoop out the product and put it at the back of my hands before applying it all over my face.

Haul: Holika Holika

My first haul for Holika Holika, it's a Korean brand, just opened at Suria Sabah, I forgot which floor =__=

Mineral Aura Bijue in Pink Glow @rm69.90
Cream Shadow & Petite Liner @rm53.90
Magic Pole Mascara Waterproof @rm59.20

1. Mineral Aura Bijou in Pink Glow

Mineral Aura Bijue in Pink Glow @rm69.90. You can see my reflection there, lol!

All that tiny little balls is so cuteee!

Ta-daa!

This is the first time I saw blusher like this. They have three colours and I chose Pink Glow because it's too cute! All those tiny round pink balls, the light blue yellow and white.. it's just irresistible.. I don't think I'm gonna wear this all the time because it's has shimmer in it, not for everyday looks.

I saw one of the pictures, where they sell this in Korea, the price shown in that picture was only 13,000, if converted to rm is only rm36! That's a lot of difference, almost twice! One of these days, I'm going to Korea and buy a lot of their products >__> I wonder when..

2. Cream Shadow & Petite Liner

Cream Shadow & Petite Liner @rm53.90. Unique packaging.

I love the light blue shade.

There the petite liner.

This is how long the liner is.

Again, I chose this product among others because of the unique packaging. I'm suck when I saw something cute and unique. I gotta have it!

3. Magic Pole Mascara

Magic Pole Mascara Waterproof @rm59.20. I like the box, it's triangle box and opened up like this.

I chose the waterproof, the purple box is only water resistant.

The wand.

Upclose with the wand. Super unique.

I'm in love with the wand. If I'm not mistaken they have two type of mascara using this kind of wand. The purple box which is quite popular is water resistant. I got the kinda silver blue box, the waterproof mascara. I must use waterproof mascara because my eyes structure will makes me like a panda by the end of the day.

EXTRA:

The s/a gave me this calendar 2012.

The s/a also gave these two samples, Water March & Blossom Essence.

I become a member of Holika Holika by paying membership for rm20 and it's a lifetime membership. You get 10% discount of the product you buy. I applied on the spot and got discount for rm18.30 from the total of my purchase, that's mean I only pay less than rm2 for the membership.

It's worth imo, better be member today if you love Holika Holika products!
