Haruki Murakami

I'm a big fan of Haruki Murakami. I've been hoping for BookXcess (http://www.bookxcess.com/) to update their booklist with Murakami in the list. To date, I only read two books by him. If I can't handle it no more, I might grab Murakami's at Times or Popular or MPH -___-

Kafka on the Shore
The first book that got me hooked

After Dark (Vintage)
I bought this book at BookXcess @rm17.90

What I Talk about when I Talk about Running - A Memoir
This book is a memoir, I bought this at BookXcess also, rm24 if I'm not mistaken. I haven't read this.

These are his other books that I reaaaaallly wants! and it's Vintage, I love the cover design :) I've been eyeing on The Wind-up Bird Chronicle and Norwegian Wood! At least, I must get these two books first!!

These cover design are not by Vintage, I couldn't find the clear picture for the Vintage cover design.

Be patient heart! :D

emm... I just realized that most of the vintage cover design are populated by girls.. almost naked B)

Tuesday Lunch Break

I had this for lunch.

I always wanted to try Secret Recipe Chocolate Banana because I love the Chocolate Banana from King's Confectionery  (previous post), today I got the chance to try it when my friend brought me to Secret Recipe during lunch.

So, the verdict? I prefer the King's Confectionery Chocolate Banana. The banana tasted fresh and juicy (err.. juicy? I don't know how to describe it hahaha) and the chocolate is more emmm, how to say this.. more chocolatee?

Things to Do List

These are my things to do :-

1) Travel to Japan!
2) Learn to swim
3) Get scuba diving license
4) Join dance class
5) Backpacking (Europe or Australia perhaps)

For the no.4, I'm attending Belly Dance class, so this one fulfilled, YaY! but I wish to join other dance classes such as traditional, jazz and ballroom.

I hope to do all the above before I hit 30 actually.. but it would not likely to happen this year (opps..) So, hopefully I get to do all these things before I hit say... 35?

Sick

I have flu... o__O

why is it when night comes, the sickness gets stronger
and when morning comes, it subsides as the sun rises
and then, hit the evening
just as you believed you can take it
it gets worse than the night before

Broadband Package

It's Friday, I got two and a half hour of lunch break. I went to Celcom Service Centre @ Damai, wanted to ask them why there's an outstanding payment from my previous phone line under my account name. My account with them already closed because I changed my phone line from individual to supplementary line under my husband account, retaining the same phone number.

I thought I already paid the outstanding payment before they closed my account which at that time I paid rm30 and I understood that it was for my bill payment. When I explained this to the customer service person, she said that the rm30 was actually for advance payment for supplementary line. I got confused because I'm pretty sure the lady who was in charged during that time, said that I have outstanding payment which I have to settle first in order for her to terminate my account and put my phone number as a supplementary line under my husband account. Now, the lady in front of me said different thing.

I probably didn't know I have outstanding payment rm60.20 if I didn't apply for the rm48 package broadband. The agent said that they can't activated my broadband package if I didn't settle the outstanding payment first. I was surprised by that and even surprised because the amount is more than rm50.. huh, I can eat pizza hut for 4 person set with that sum.

At the end, after much arguing and inquiring, I paid the outstanding payment (this time for real) because I wanted the rm48 package broadband. I'm using the rm98 package broadband currently and I can save rm50 every month with this new package. It's the best deal I can get by paying the rm60.20.

But, don't you think is not logic? Say, if there is no promotion for the rm48 package broadband, then I won't come to Celcom Service Centre. I won't know about any outstanding payment and Celcom also won't get their rm60.20 FOREVER from me. They are doing ineffective money collecting strategy.

Hopefully, their computer is right, I don't have the time to check my bill from last November until now. But if I suddenly have the mood for it, I might check and track down my payment bill to ascertain that I did use the rm60.20.

Can't Wait for September

Why?

It's Bangkok shopping spree! I'm going there with a few of my friends. Last time I went there, I promised to myself that I'll be going back again with rm5k in my pocket! I have to save money from now on, maybe rm500/month? Eh wait, 4 months left, that's means I can only save rm2k oh-ho... Looks like husband gonna be my BIG time saviour (he has to! ;p).

Bangkok City is really a shopping heaven for girls, especially like me. The food, fashion, accessories, bags, shoes... You can die from such an aaahh-mazing experience. These pictures were from my first visit sometime last year with my besties.

Oh my, this is the most delicious addicting Tom Yam ever! can't wait! can't wait!

Just some of the accessories that I bought

Accessories... yep, you've seen the ring at the far back on right hand side?
I've uploaded the pic not long ago, one of my favourite vintage ring

The Giant Swing, one of the place that I've visited

Most of the palace and the temple are along Chao Phraya river. The sight-seeing was an excruciating (mentally) and sweating (physically) experience uh huh.. I'm not gonna go through it again, once is enough

I've decided that I won't do any sight-seeing. My other friends seems like wanted to include a one day tour sight-seeing, but I'm gonna exclude myself and go wild shopping instead!

A Noun: Distance

Once in a while, I wish to be lazy, doing nothing and writing what's in my head without deleting here and there. When this time comes around, it's because I miss the man of my life, huh.. long distance relationship is really a pain in the ass.

For the soul:~

Somehow, reading those lines... I am happy, yet sad~

Holiday at Kuching City

These are the items that I got for myself during Gawai holiday at Kuching City :) I know I shouldn't be buying anything at all because I need to save money after spending too much money for my wedding preparation! (=___=)" ..but... I just can't resist the temptation looking at these items! :p

Front View: It's a plane.
I forgot the name of the shop selling this, but the shop located at lower ground, Pullman Hotel. I bought it @rm29.

Back View

I bought this bracelet at The Spring @rm25 (after 50% discount!) If not because of the discounted price, I probably won't buy it.

Hubby bought these for me :) These bracelets are made from synthetic leather.

Buah Keranji

In my childhood memories, I remember eating some fruits and I love the taste of it! The taste of the fruit is like none other, it's like a combination of everything. Over time, I did not see the fruit again and forgot about it totally.

One day, 25 years later (I believed I ate the fruit first time sometimes during kindergarten), I saw these roundish greyish black thing at my husband-then-fiance's aunt house and something in me stirred like I know what they are. Aunt thought me how to open it and when I popped it in my mouth, I've realized that this is the fruit that I've been long to eat without realizing it.

I found this fruit again when we was sight-seeing at Betong town during Gawai holiday. I was surprised actually when I saw this packet in one of the shop. Wow, they do sell this! was what I thought. As far as I know, you can only get these little round black fruit in the woods! and I was so lucky to stumble upon it because this is actually distributed from Kapit, Sarawak :)

I'm very happy to think that they do commercialized this fruit and now, people like me can buy and eat it to our heart contents! I grabbed four packets of it @ rm4/packet and I finished 3 packets in Sarawak even before returning home :)

Buah Keranji. I love this fruit.

It's greyish black.

To open it, just squeeze it a little until you hear the crack sounds.

There you are!

The inside.

The eatable part is the thin layered dark brown which is soft. The taste is sourly sweet! I don't know how to describe the taste actually, but it's like combination between sweet and sour, heavy on the sour side.

Keranji seed. This can't be eaten.

Comparison between the bad and the eatable Keranji. The bad Keranji is fully covered with whitish layered and can't be eaten. The healthy Keranji is usually in black or brown.

Noticed that healthy Keranji does have different colour, it can be either black, brown, or brownish black. Sometimes, it will have some whitish colour but still can be eaten. When you eat too much Keranji, you can tell which one is the bad and the good ones :)

Gawai: Home Cooked Food is the Best

Food is heaven! During Gawai celebration, my family was served with delicacy food! food that cook at home is indeed has a different aroma with it. I love all the dishes.. err except one.

Nasi Pulut - glutinous rice cooked with water in bamboo

Umbut cooked with ikan masin, definitely one of my fav!

Chicken curry - I'm not sure what are the ingredients, but it's not exactly curry, but it's delicious!

Fish cooked with vege

Obor-obor mixed with lime, red chilly etc.. yummy! this is not cooked.

Ikan bilis with lime & green chilly, selling like a hot cake!

pork innards

This is the one I'm talking about, it has a strong smell and taste, yuck! it's chicken feet cooked with daun something (forgot the name), but it's actually good for your health especially for woman who just gave birth.

Another one of my fav! Ikan masin Empirang (fried together with thin slices of ginger), it's crunchy (you can eat everything including the bones) and not so salty, that's why I like it. I ate it like I'm eating cracker.

This is... a must have every time Gawai, Pork Ketchup

When we were back in town, I did enjoy my Mee Kolok Special and Sarawak Laksa, both were delicious! Oh, these were not home cooked of course :)

Mee Kolok Special
