DIY: Yogurt + Oat Mask

I bought yogurt at Giant, not your regular size yogurt, but it's 1.4kg of yogurt!

I will use it for skincare purposes because this is plain yogurt and the taste is just yuck!

I wanted to try using this recipe as posted by Viva Woman: type of yogurtyogurt+othersyogurt+oatmeal, yogurt+potato+rice flour, yogurt+honey+lime. If you want for more info, just read Viva Woman post, she wrote everything in details and clear guidelines of how to make your own facial mask/ cleanser using yogurt :D

Let's go to how I make my DIY Yogurt +Oat mask :D

You need :-
  1. Oat (1 tablespoon)
  2. Yogurt (I chose non-fat formula for oily skin type) (1 tablespoon)
How to :-
  1. Blend the oat.
  2. Mix the oat and yogurt together.
  3. Put in the fridge at least 15 minutes before using the mask to make it cool.
  4. Apply it on the face except eye area for at least 20 minutes.
  5. Rinse with tepid water.
  6. Use it twice or thrice weekly.

The mask is ready! :D
These pictures were taken during my first attempt doing DIY. I use three tablespoons for each
that's why the mask was quite a lot as you see in the picture.

I only need 1 tablespoon for oat and yogurt because it's enough for my whole face. It's better to keep your mask in the fridge before using it, so that you can feel the cooling effect more effectively. But sometimes, being sucks at waiting, I immediately slather it on my face after mixing it together. I still feel the cooling effect from the cold yogurt actually, so it's okay I guess. hehe..

I don't usually make a large amount of mask for two or three times usage, that's why I only use one tablespoon and use the mask in one go. Everytime I need it, I make one. I use this mask once a week because I have my Magnesium Pack which I use twice a week.

Facial mask shouldn't be used more than thrice a week. It is use to remove dead skin cells but our skin also need time to rejuvenate itself.

So far, I've tried using this mask three times already and it didn't break out my skin, yeppi! After washing it, I noticed my face slightly brighten and fresh. However, I didn't notice any reduce redness on my face as claimed by others using the same recipe mask. emm.. maybe three times is not enough.

Definitely, I will continue using this recipe mask as long as my 1.4kg yogurt occupying my fridge space ^^,

Hotel Grand Millennium KL

The inside of Hotel Grand Millennium :D

Let's start from the bathroom.

I really love the scent of the shampoo, shower bath, conditioner and the moisturizer provided.
It has a calming scent  from mineral oils or herbs.

They provided two toothbrush with little tubes of Colgate, shower cap, comb, bar soap (also nice scent!) and the four bottles are shower bath, shampoo, conditioner and moisturizer (lotion).

I really love the round mirror, this is the first time I see hotel equipped their bathroom with extra mirror like this.

The cotton pads and Q-tip are kept at this beautiful box. The cotton pads are quite a good quality so everytime they stock it up I took them all ;p.

The tub. I told hubby that if we ever have a tub in our bathroom, we should get Jacuzzi size tub, lol!

Pretty neat.

Complete with hair dryer, iron, iron board, safety box and a lot of choices for tea bags, coffee and snacks!
I ate one chocolate bar, opps!

King size bed, the pillows were soooooo comfyyyyyy! If only I can steal it without being notice, hurm...

Flat screen TV with a good variety of channels. Vanity mirror but I didn't use it, I make myself preparation in the
bathroom, the lighting was better there.

I only sat here on my last night I think. It's quite comfortable.

The room has a view along Bukit Bintang road with it's ceiling to floor glass window.

Starhill just in front of the hotel, and Sephora also!

Hubby made me this chamomile tea and insisted me to finish it even though I said I don't want it.
But I sip it once though and that's all, lol!

This? is for my eye :)

I've ordered dinner on my last night, hehe

This costs rm60

Australian beef sirloin with black pepper, not only the beef is delicious but the vege also!

The restroom at the ground floor. Pretty nice huh, I want that couch and put it in my room back here in KK.

See? This is the hotel entrance and once you walk outside, Sephora is at your sight already!

The hotel price starts from rm350++ per night. Our room was a King size bedroom and it's rm500 per night. I don't know if I ever have the chance to stay at this hotel in the future. Hopefully, there is.

March Salary Monthly Treat

No surprise. I've got myself another Avène products for this month salary :)

I  bought these during my stay at KL recently at Sasa, Sg.Wang. My hotel was just about 5 minutes away from Sg.Wang. Pssstt... these things were bought during the absence of my hubby, he went outstation the day before, and so given the abundance of time alone, you won't think that I'm gonna waste it just like that, do you? hehe..

I did say that at least I'm gonna buy three products for my salary treat, and yes, there is a third product but I will post it in a different post :D simply because it deserved its own title post hehe.

Oh, another place where you can get Avène products is at Watson, but they sell this more expensive than Sasa. So, you better always compare these two stores before buying anything because there are quite large range of skincare and cosmetics products that these two stores both carry. I even got the price lower because Sasa was having 10% sale during that time (price shown here is before discount).

1) Soapless Foaming Gel, 125ml @rm61.75

2) Gentle Toner, 200ml @rm75.05

After I went back at hotel, I realized that the Soapless Foaming Gel contained SLS eventhough it's Fragrance free. I was quite disappointed because I don't want to use any facial cleanser that has SLS or SLES huhu. What to do, I have already purchased it :(

The Gentle Toner is my favourite. After using the sample toner that I've got from the Starter Kit (previous post), I've decided to get the toner in full size bottle.

I wanted so many more from  Avène products but my wallet won't permit it. I've spent more than I should for this month! I don't want a treat to become a threat :p

Haul: Avène

Finally, I've got to try Avène products.

I bought  Avène Starter Kit for normal to combination skin. This starter kit only costs me rm29.90, it's a good bargain considering I've got the chance to try 4 products.

  • Thermal Spring Water, 50ml
  • Hydrance Light Hydrating Cream, 5ml
  • Gentle Toner, 25ml
  • Gentle Gel Cleanser, 25ml

Inside the kit also has face mask, 15+ pcs

I'm using all the products now except the face mask. So far, I'm loving it and it didn't give my face breakout. I've only used it 1 week and I will decide whether to buy the full size products or not when the sample finish.

Delicious Sunday Dinner

I have the tendency to write blog for a few occasions and post it one after the other. Let's just say when I'm in blogging mood, then my brain works concurrently with my hand.

Kota Kemuning area.

Hubby and me were having this delicious dinner on last Saturday night. This is my favourite eating place in Kota Kemuning, err I don't know the name of the restaurant (will update the name later). Looks like nothing special, these pictures just don't do it justice.

We ordered three dishes.

Egg with red chilies, onions, pork meat(?)

The only vege we have kangkung

The main reason why I love this place, crunchy pork with salted egg.

Lazy Monday

I'm in KL right now! Yeppi! I reached KL on Friday night, I'll be attending World Water Day Conference at KLCC from Tuesday to Thursday. I will be back to my working desk on Friday or Monday.

Today I just lazying around the house.. emm, rolling on the bed actually, that's pretty much what I do, while hubby is working. Hubby went back home during lunch break just now and we went out to lunch together, yayyy I'm feeling like we are still on a dating period heeheehee..

Black Chocolate.. I think so?? @rm8

Tom Yam Special @rm7.80

Hah.. my drink was expensive than my food. But all in all, the Tom Yam was delicious and so was the drinks. I'm having a good time here in KL with the company of my better half. Tonight, we are going to stay in one of the hotel at Bukit Bintang, 5 stars hotel somemore, provided by the consultant of the conference. Hubby gonna join me staying there (It's like we're having honeymoon? ;p)

Review: Tony Moly Milky Tint in Pink

This is the first item I bought from Tony Moly (I'm on budget at that time huhu, if not I probably would buy more!).

Tony Moly do have other colours, in store there are two shades of red (dark red and rich red) and orange shade. I already have tinted lip gloss in dark red (posted here) from The Body Shop, so I was in between the pink shade or orange shade at first.

I might get the orange shade later :D. I love pink! The colour is pretty and really glad that I chose it.

Milky Tint Pink @rm41.80

At the back of my hand

The colour is very pigmented.

Now, let's see how it is on my lips :D

Bare lips

Applied tint - this is the time when I hate the sensation on my lips,
like there's chemical reaction ongoing until it dries out

After it dries, it turns to natural pinkish tone on my lips :D

I love that it gives a nice pretty pink tinted on my lips. The tinted colour lasted longer too, but just like other lip products, I noticed that it's gone when I have my breakfast, only a few traces left :( I have to reapply it. It has a fruity like cherry/ strawberry scents.

What I hate about it is I don't like the feel on my lips especially when it gets dry. It's like having chemical or something on my lips. Oh, it's like the products is having chemical reaction with my lips. But it did go away after a while. I guess I have to bear with it.

Will I buy again? No.
